The United Earth Force Military Academy was four-year educational institution which prepared candidates for service in the officer corps of the United Earth Forces (UEF), and was originally founded in 2025, shortly after the Army of the Southern Cross (ASC) took over planetary defense. Candidates for admission must both apply directly to the academy and receive a nomination, usually from a member of United Earth Forces. Other nomination sources are possible, and depend on a case by case basis. Students were officers-in-training and were referred to as "cadets". Tuition for cadets were fully funded by the UEF in exchange for an active duty service obligation upon graduation.

The academic program granted a bachelor of science degree with a curriculum that graded cadets' performance upon a broad academic program, military leadership performance, and mandatory participation in competitive athletics. Cadets were required to adhere to the Honor Code, which stated that "a cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do." The academy based a cadet's leadership experience as a development of all three pillars of performance: academics, physical, and military.

Notable graduates of the academy include Dana Sterling, daughter of Max and Miriya Sterling, and Marie Crystal.
